{- - - DJ Tarkan's Biography - - -}

Since his early childhood in Frankfurt, LPs and singles were his favorite toys. His family's interest in music has played a great role on the growth of his love for music. In 1985, the family decided to move to Istanbul where his career as a DJ was going to begin. His professional music career started, when he became a DJ on one of the famous radio stations in Turkey. Right after showing up in the music scene as a radio DJ, he started to perform at the biggest clubs in Istanbul. Running fast in his music career, he had to give a short break to complete his military service between April-November 1997.

Upon his return to Istanbul, he took scene at Turkey's one and only dance station 'Radio 2019' as a DJ and production manager while he was performing at different clubs in Istanbul. In 1998, he became the resident of the most famous club in Istanbul for two years. His reputation in Turkey was spreading and the number of people appreciating his sound increasing with every event. The big break came in 2002 with the DJ of the Year award. DJ Tarkan was sponsored to play his eclectic house (deep, vocal, jazzy, funky, disco, techy) and deep, dark & dirty tribal progressive sets, which he sharply forms depending on the time, the venue and the crowd, all around the country. His unique mixing style cemented his fan-base around the country, where he is frequently invited to play gigs in different cities.

His creativity and talent was appreciated by the crowds and he was named number one DJ of the year in Turkey again in 2003 and 2004. The momentum continued with bookings from all around the world. Based on this success, Tarkan decided to spend more time on productions, releasing tracks based on years of musical experience. His productions and remixes were included in the tracklists and charts of the world's well known DJ's like Tiesto, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Seb Fontaine, Lee Burridge, Markus Schulz and many more.

The international recognition of DJ Tarkan was confirmed when he was voted #78 in DJ List Top 100 DJ Poll..

DJ Tarkan and V_SAG are the founders of the No Smoking Recordings label, which is intended to only release the highest standard of deep, tribal and progressive house music. DJ Tarkan and V-SAG have initiated a campaign for the understanding of the music "as is", giving people the opportunity to discover the true meaning of music in its purest form instead of "chemically enhanced fun". The label releases a new production every month.

{- - - Darudes' Biography - - -}

Darude (Finnish artist/producer/dj Ville Virtanen) found dance music while he was still in school. He practically gave himself carpal tunnel syndrome by constantly holding his finger on the pause button of a tape deck while trying to catch the latest tunes off his favorite radio show. Darude says his "education" and broad taste in music dates back to those active radio-listening years. He says he gets inspired by other people's great music, among other things, and I think it's fair to say that he's probably inspired a fair share of aspiring djs and electronic musicians himself.

It actually took quite a long time for him to realize that he could one day make music of his own.  After a friend showed him what could be done with a regular PC and a simple tracker program, his studies started going downhill and time spent next to the computer increased exponentially.  He soon moved on to sound modules and samplers in need of better sounds and more variety.  These days he's combining the best of both hardware and software tools in making music and performing live. He's considered somewhat of a tech freak wanting to try out the new stuff as soon as he gets his hands on them.
The name Darude developed gradually during a long period of time.  Ville played one particular song several times in a row at a friend's pre-party: 'Rude Boy' by Swedish artist Leila K.  Friends started to call him 'Rude Boy', which developed to 'The Rude', 'Da Rude' and finally Darude.

Darude's career began after slipping a demo cd to one of his idols, acclaimed Finnish dance producer, Jaakko 'JS16' Salovaara.  Jaakko immediately became interested in what he heard and signed Darude that instant to his label, 16 Inch Records.  Then, in co-operation with Ville, Jaakko produced Ville's track called 'Sandstorm'.

'Sandstorm' went directly to #1 position on the Finnish Dance Chart and dominated that spot for 17 weeks.  The song found its way to UK via the Internet and was signed by Neo Records.  In June 2000, Darude became the first Finnish artist ever to reach the top 3 positions on the UK single chart.

'Sandstorm' sold platinum in Scandinavia and Ireland, and gold in the UK and Germany.  The worldwide sales of 'Sandstorm' is about 1,5 - 2 million units.  The single was also the world's best selling 12" vinyl of 2000.

The second single, 'Feel The Beat', went to #1 on the Finnish Dance Chart, the UK Club Chart, Mixology Dance Chart UK, and the Australian Dance Chart.  Altogether it conquered the Top 3 in ten countries.  Darude's debut album, 'Before The Storm', sold double platinum in Finland and gold in Canada.  The worldwide sales are about 600.000 - 800.000 units.

Darude's success around the world kept him on the road performing live for a total of nine months in 2001.  In the spring of 2002, Darude did his seven week 'Tour de Trance' in the USA, after which he took some well deserved vacation.

By summer 2003, Darude had finished working on his second album, 'Rush'. The first single from the album is simply entitled, 'Music'. The track conquered the #1 position on the Finnish Singles Chart, the Finnish Dance Chart and, for example, on the Polish Dance Chart. The second single, 'Next To You', followed the first single's success by taking the #1 position on the Finnish Singles Chart on release. Both singles received supported by some of the biggest names in the dj world (Tiesto, Ferry Corsten...) and were play-listed on several dance radio stations all over the world. Again, after the album release, Darude performed several live shows around the globe.

In addition to records, clubs and radio, you can hear Darude's music in Hollywood movies ('Ballistic, Ecks vs. Sever', 'Like Mike'), Playstation games, mobile ring tones, and heavily viewed sports broadcasts like the Olympics and the Ice Hockey World Championships.

In 2004, the world saw Darude taking another step in his career.  In addition to the live performances, he started officially touring as a dj, which quickly turned out to be something he really loves and is now an inseparable part of his career.  His style is a mix of progressive and uplifting melodic trance, but he's not too shy to throw in some tech, breaks and house flavor with even occasional heavy metal samples. His energetic sets have clearly proven to people that there's a lot more to Darude than his signature track, ‘Sandstorm', since after only one year of spinning, he has been voted onto the renowned charts The DJ Magazine's Top100 list 2004 (UK) & BPM Magazine's America's Favorite DJ list 2004 and 2005 and gained a top position in The DJ List.com's chart. 
In 2005, Darude began hosting his monthly mix show, "Salmiakki Sessions with Darude," on ETN.fm (www.etn.fm).   This show has gained tremendous support and has led to Darude also hosting a weekly mix show, "Darude Presents Finland" on SIRIUS Satellite Radio (www.sirius.com/area33).  In addition, Darude also does many guest mixes for other top radio programs, such as Above & Beyond's "Trance Around the World" on Ministry of Sound Radio. .

{- - - DJ Joyce Mercedes' Biography - - -}

Joyce Mercedes passed her Athenaeum-diploma and started a study Economics. Next to her study in the 90’s she began from her birthplace in Nijmegen to work as a dancer for leading organizations like Pantera and X-tension. Then she decided to move to Amsterdam. This was followed by the “Strycker & Holmes World Tour” in which Joyce performed together with her colleague, a sparkling dance show in some of the most famous clubs in the world. Her passion for music lies in her dancing as well as her singing. In the recent past Joyce was part of “Centerfold”, the group that sang in 1998 to a sold out Amsterdam Arena during half time of the classic football game Ajax-PSV. “Centerfold” also added lustre to the 15th year anniversary of Playboy. She also works regularly as a model, featuring in campaigns for Heineken, Campari, Gap-Star, Playboy, MAXIM and FHM magazine.

All of this shows her huge passion for music. Joyce then decided to buy some turntables and try to master the art of mixing. Her first performance before an audience took place in sunny Miami on a private party. Quickly the bookings started to roll in, acuminating in the residency DJ spot at the well known Amsterdam Supperclub and the 2 year “Space World Tour” to crown it all off. At this moment Joyce Mercedes has performed in almost every famous foreign club in Europe, North America, South-America as well as in the Far East.

Without labelling Joyce Mercedes as a purist, she has progressive house in the most pure form in her blood. The marvelous choice of records shows her nose for quality and her exceptional mix-technique is based on a combination of inborn talent and perseverance. With her various ways of mixing, which is now and then easy and accessible, vocal records will not be avoided, but which is at other moments becomes deep and trippy, Joyce Mercedes turns out to be a hypnotist who knows how to stun the dance floor. The words funky, techy, full of soul, tribal, trancy and psychedelic can all be found in her musical vocabulary.

She has successfully finished the Audio Engineering diploma at the famous School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Amsterdam, followed by the more specialized course in Electronic Music Production.

Her striving for perfection has naturally led her into the recording studio. This year Joyce Mercedes used this ambition and dedication to pursue her dream of producing her own music. Finally put into effect. After hard work in the studio, she finished her debut EP “Golden Stars” consisting: “Golden Glow” and Sparkling Stars”. Her EP will be released on her own label called “QOC-recordings”. This brand new label will feature a lot of promising artists.

{- - - DJ Nelson's Biography - - -}

Originally one of the countries most influential DJ’s, currently on the international front, Nelson’s music reflects a quality synonymous with a full-bodied South African wine. There is a remarkable maturity visible in his work – the result of his diversity and drive, his strong beliefs about support amongst DJ’s in the competitive world of mixing and music production, and over 15 years of experience in the industry.

Nelson started his career in 1989, playing all night sets in Johannesburg’s top nightclubs. After many years behind the decks he started playing and promoting some of the early raves, and swiftly became a respected name in the country’s growing club culture.

A four year residency at ESP in Jo’burg city, made Sunday afternoons at the superior club unforgettable, he then decided to put experience gained into running his own club night, Flyhouse, which hosted many international DJ’s and was rated one of the best nights out during its four year run. As a DJ, he is a crowd pleaser with more energy behind the decks than a Duracell bunny and although his DJ sets venture into the unknown he always seems to find the space to drop the unforgettable classic leaving his crowds wanting more. Nelson believes that giving the dancefloor a good time will ensure they keep coming back.

With all this and a gig schedule taking him to all corners of the country he established himself as a talented and confident DJ, playing at major events like Ministry of Sound, ICE, Cream, Womad, Amnesia and Pacha, sometimes with audiences of up to 20 000 people. He was one of the first South African DJ’s to initiate the release of a club mix compilation and mixed nine albums in total – two under his club night name Flyhouse.

Nelson has since breached the international scene with gigs in London (AKA), Lisbon (Queens), Moscow, St Petersburg, Belgium (Cafe d Anvers),Beirut and now Dubai.

Currently, Nelson resides in Dubai and is resident at Peppermint Club (the regions biggest club) often warming up for the world’s top DJ’s and successfully taking the reigns on their huge Usual Suspects night which is a resident only night drawing crowds of 1500 revellers. His open and diverse style, ranging from tribal, twisted and dirty electro house, as well as his knowledge and commitment to the dance scene, makes him truly a DJ for the international dancefloors. He also is the PR and Artist Relations manager for the club of which he markets the weekly events that bring in almost every top DJ the world has to offer.

His Afroboogie label introduced the underground sound of Johannesburg to the world, exposing himself and other artists internationally. The releases impress and have been supported by the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Tom Stephan, Jorge Jaramillo, Steve Porter, Eddie Amador, Oscar G, Saeed & Palash to name few.

Like a world class wine – produced and perfected – and definitely ready to drink.

{- - - DJ Carlos Fauvrelle's Biography - - -}

Let's be honest if you lived somewhere as beautiful as Portugal the idea of sitting in a studio, getting your head down and toiling over a hot mixing desk wouldn't be the most appealing way to spend some time. Unless of course you're Carlos Fauvrelle and aren't we glad he'd rather spend his time locked away in a darkened room as opposed to lazing the days away in the blistering heat of the European sunshine.

Not content with his prolific studio projects, remixing and original tracks Carlos is currently refining his "live" DJ performance using samples and "work in progress" to create a truly stunning and unique performance and although Fauvrelle has continued to work on solo projects he has also teamed up with friend and studio partner Frank Maurel. This has been a very worthwhile partnership, which has resulted in original releases and remixes on labels like Twisted Records, Sondos, Harlen, Loaded/Skint, Distraekt, Tao, etc..

Also they started "Lajja recordings", getting attention from all the usual guys. One of them it's Tom (Superchumbo) Stephan who was so impressed by the quality of Maurel and Fauvrelle's studio output that he specifically asked for the pair to remix his huge hit of 2002, Irresistable. DJ Vibe, Deep Dish, Chus & Ceballos and John Creamer & Stephane K have been fans also, including some Carlos tracks in their mixed compilations. For 2007 he as schedule plenty of releases and a growing international airplay!

{- - - DJ Mccrea's Biography - - -}

DJ McCrea's sounds can only be described as rhythmic, highly energetic and intense. McCrea has the ability to move andy dance floor and create energy through his skillful mixing abilities and song selection. He's been performing for over 10 years now in the New England area and has showcased his talents in many hot Boston areas and Miami nightclubs.

McCrea gave up 15 years of playing guitar and sacrificed a scholarship to Berkeley College of Music to learn how to become a DJ. He frequently visited a lot of Boston area nightclubs and listened and watched how the DJ's could control the crowd. Not soon after, McCrea purchased some turntables and began to perfect his skills. Three long years later, McCrea got his first residency at Club Red, in Worcester.

McCrea has spun alongside many other talented and respected DJs locally and nationally. Well known DJs such as DJ Adilson (Boston, MA), DJ Louie Devito, and well know Club Space resident, George Acosta (Miami, FL).

Spinning music crossing over multiple formats is McCrea's specialty. His styles range from top 40 house, tribal house, electro house, vocal progressive house, techno and trance. This versatility helps satisfy the brad demographic of musical styles that his audience possesses.

{- - - DEAN MASON'S Biography - - -}

With International style and that east coast groove, Dean Mason has quickly inserted himself into the world of DJing. Originally from New York and then Miami, Dean has situated himself in sunny California where he hopes to bring his east coast vibe. In conjunction with his mixing and spinning career, Dean is involved in entertainment and television, which complements this very vivacious DJ's talent.

{- - - MORNINGSTAR'S Biography - - -}

The character known as Morningstar is the extension of a life dedicated and given to all that is auditory, music, performance, and the forefathers who have defined all of this, all wrapped up into one. Morningstar's passion for music, and his acknowledgement of the fact that it was all which made sense to him in life, along with the artists before him who would prove as undying in form of inspiration, would be the force behind this DJ/Producer who has now hit the scene like a wildfire. After the seeming futile journey through life, he found complete solace and escape........and reason, all in the form of turtables, a mixer, a set of headphones, and his wondrous arsenal of musical material.

Coming from a background of highly various music, he incorporated all of it to form the unique style he conveys, ranging in everything from: (His true passions) Electronica/House/Progressive/Tribal/Trance to Pop/Hip-Hop/R&B/Rock/EBM/Industrial. Not to mention, the fact that today, he DJ's multiple events weekly........all with complete differences in musical formats. One thing that always stood above the rest in inspiring music and performance, were those who conveyed the same passion for music as he did, in form of a darker, more intense and emotional approach. Don't be fooled into thinking this dramatic nature is all you'll get from this character, as the decadence, decay, glamour, and sense-of-humor behind all of it is equally as prominent in what is deemed as influential. Honing his skills in a rapid-fire way in the confines of his own bedroom "in the sky" as he would call it........while most of his peers were out and about, he would spend endless nights at home for endless hours, practicing with the material he would empty out his bank account buying.

Finally, after deeming himself as ready to ascend from out of the shadows, he found a home at one of Vegas' premier spots, being Krave Nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip. Proving to more than fit its "Alternative Lifestyle" moniker, he has been more than fitting and pioneering in his role as a conductor of all that is music. Starting off by opening for some of Krave's top DJ talents along with world-renown top DJ talents, he quickly emerged to having his very first, and breakthrough headlining performance at Krave's official Halloween Party, right after performing his second months residency at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. Since then, along with a Headline-Residency at Krave, he has landed gigs and residency's at some of the top Nightclubs and Events in the world, including (thus far):: TAO (Vegas), TigerHeat @ Arena (L.A), Ruby Skye (S.F), WMC Miami / Cafeteria - South Beach, Les Deux (L.A), and Drai's (Vegas) to name a few. In only his first year living in Las Vegas, Morningstar gained the notice and attention of many, leading up to his being voted/named "BEST HOUSE DJ IN LAS VEGAS" for 2006 in a Voters-Choice Award in "Las Vegas City Life" Magazine, While earning a strong following, and regularly being featured in Magazine's, Articles, and Papers such as: "U.S Newswire", "Las Vegas Weekly", "Las Vegas City Life" "Vegas.com", "Odyssey" "Q-Vegas", along with others. He has been deemed as one of the hottest rising stars in the business, by both his many admiring fans, and many of his most established contemporaries, alongside business moguls. {- - - STARZ ANGELS' Biography - - -}

Starz Angel is the result of the combination of an ELECTRO HOUSE DJ and a HIP HOP DJ. Each DJ is individually known for their production qualities and their performances that have covered geographical areas such as Paris, London. Marrakech, Porto, Cayenne, Alger, Tunis, Hammamet, DJerba They also worked with artists such as Jocelyn Brown, Salome de Bahia, Cece Peniston, James D-Train, Oliver Cheatham, Bob Sinclar, etc… Starz Angels are defined by their ability to play live their own remixes never heard before and to create a fusion of two music genres mainly dominated by ELECTRO HOUSE

Once this combination was created in conjunction with many hours developping their sounds in the studio, they started performing only for private events. Since July 2006 they have toured with two companies specialising in lobbying. Their strong success generated a demand for Starz Angels that took them to places such as Marrakech, London, Dubai, Bali, Barcelone, Kuala Lumpur and Johannesburg…

Despite their choice to stick to private events, they accepted to appear at the biggest House event in Paris : « La Techno Parade » attended by 500 000 clubbers. The video link on their website speaks for itself. Starz Anglz have recieved a warm welcome, and have aquired the status of new commers of the ELECTRO HOUSE music genre. They recently signed (end of 2006) with an English Label called Maestromusik Entertainment Ltd, who is going to release the Starz Angels album.

{- - - CHUCK LEPLEY'S Biography - - -}

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado Chuck began his passion of the 4/4 in a manner that is not very common in our scene. After discovering house music while studying at the University of Colorado he messed around on the turntables a bit, but recognized production as a more efficient means of expression. He immediately picked up some equipment and began learning. His musical influences combined with his training in piano at a young age helped to ease productions learning curve and right away gained recognition by artists such as Steve Lawler.

Upon becoming comfortable with the production side of things, Chuck took a step backwards and began DJing to push his sound. After graduating from Boulder, Chuck moved to Los Angeles where he now lives and works while continually growing and expanding his skills as both a DJ and a producer.
